KVNR Shipping Award goes to Multraship & Novatug

We would like to congratulate Multraship & Novatug for winning this year’s KVNR Shipping Award during the Maritime Awards Gala 2018. Windcat Worksboats was also nominated for the KVNR Shipping Award.

During an exciting evening and alongside many proud award winners in different shipping categories, the Windcat MK3.5 series was amongst the three KVNR Shipping Award nominees. Windcat Workboats received the acknowledgment for the innovations in multi-hull design, the construction of the CarbonCube superstructure, the patented Windgrip system and many other innovative developments. Windcat Workboats is delighted with the nomination by the jury recognizing their contribution to a safer, comfortable and faster way of transporting technicians to offshore wind farms while keeping the fine balance of having a high performance, cost and fuel efficient vessel to allow the industry to reach the cost reduction goals which have been set out.

Windcat Workboats would like to thank all that are involved in the design and construction of the Windcat MK3.5 series. And also to thank the jury of the KVNR award for the opportunity of receiving this honourable nomination.

Nominee Maritime KVNR Shipping Award 2018

We’re very proud to announce our nomination for the Maritime KVNR Shipping Award 2018.

Jury explanation: “The Windcat MK3.5 of Windcat Workboats has been nominated, because it’s a product that is made possible by previous innovations, such as Windgrip, and can therefore provide better and faster services and higher environmental benefits through the use of alternative construction materials such as aluminum and carbon. In addition, more people can be transported more comfortably. An important step that allows for the growing demand for this service through the expansion of wind farms at sea. The innovative Windcat MK3.5 vessels are a product of building on other innovations within the company and that says a lot about the company culture and future innovative plans.” The winner will be announced at the Maritime Awards Gala on Monday 12 November.

Two awards for Windgrip

The patented Windgrip system – designed and developed by Windcat Workboats – was awarded twice, first winning the 2016 Health and Safety Award by the Crown Estate and Renewables UK and second the EEEGR Cost Reduction and Collaboration Award.

The rugged and efficient self tensioning system increases the ability of the vessel to transfer in greater wave heights and reduces fuel consumption whilst pushing on to offshore structures. Read more about Windgrip.
