For our Technical department with central office in Lowestoft we are looking for a:
All-round Maritime Shore based Engineer (full-time, working 2 weeks on 1 week off rota)
Job description
As shore based Engineer you are responsible for the maintenance and repairs on our vessels on location (UK, Belgium, Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands) and for refit projects. The work tasks vary from replacing a camera to pulling propeller shafts, removing and installing engines. Briefly we are looking for a real all round Engineer with essential experience but not necessarily marine experience.
Working tasks
- Assembly works, inspection and repairs on engines and gearboxes.
Engines: MTU and Volvo Penta
Gearboxes: Twindisc and Servogear - Other works on the vessel:
Electric System
Hydraulic System (steering machine, winches, HIAB/Guerra crane, windgrip system)
Navigation and Radio equipment (Simrad, Sailor, JRC)
Heating systems (Kobola, Eberspacher and fanoil units)
Job requirements:
- Marine Engineer or commercial vehicle experience
- Proactive, being able to perform the work that need to be done independently
- Administrative skills
- Fluent in English in speech and writing
- You are prepared to work flexible hours
- Your handle materials and tools with care
- In possession of driving license
- In possession of forklift certificate (or willing to obtain)
- Willing to travel and work away from home
