Job Description
Reporting to the In-house Inspector and drawing on your experience with vessels (ideally small boats), you will carry out statutory inspections and monthly testing and examinations on various vessel equipment and systems. You will maintain good working relationships with crewmembers and colleagues across the site and operations management teams as well as the technical department.
Your key duties
To include but not limited to;
- Statutory inspections to be conducted in accordance with LOLER and PUWER regulations on vessels cranes, lifting equipment, safety equipment and anchor points.
- Tests on vessels water tanks.
- Smoke integrity testing
- Calibration of vessel gas detection monitors
- Servicing, testing vessel Windgrip system.
- PAT testing.
What skills and experience do you have?
Essential
- Experience onboard vessels, small boats or in boatsheds/boatyards.
- Experience working within a testing / inspection environment.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to spot problems and provide solutions.
- A good professional manner when dealing with people.
- Ability to work under own initiative and time manage.
- Team player.
- English knowledge, able to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Ability to administer, keep records and work with I/T systems
- Full, valid driving license
Desirable
- In-house inspector qualifications and competent in the inspection of lifting equipment in accordance with LOLER & PUWER.
- The Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) qualifications.
- Opito Banksman & Slinger qualification
- Able Seafarer (AB) qualification
- STCW & MCA certificates (Basic Safety Training, PSCRB & EDH)
